JEC Oxon Attended The Red Lion, Blewbury's Jaguar Paddock Night on Wednesday 28th May 2025

This event was popular last year and was something suitably southern in Oxon, in a wonderful pub in a lovely village. A bonus ‘Open Night’, it ultimately attracted 34 Jaguars and 50 people from Oxfordshire & Thames Valley Regions. Oxon Member, Vaughan Machin, ultimately ran out the winner of the 'Most Liked Jaguar' award with his beautiful dark blue Mk2.

Whilst enjoying the evening, the views, all those Jaguars, the Ukrainian Street Food and the drink, the atmosphere was entirely perfect.

As well as seeing some new Members for just a second time and for some others the first time in a while, Oxfordshire also picked about half a dozen new Members for the Club & Region.

The Range of Jaguars Was Excellent

The landlord of the Red Lion himself drives an XFRS. In addition to his car there was another XF, multiple XKs and XKRs, XJs, 3 x E-types, 4 x MK2s, a Mark 7 and more. There were so many Jags that some had to display in the overflow filed nearby.

Some strongly supporting Oxon Region Members had to come in their MX5 or their Mini, but they still (literaslly) displayed their JEC support with wings stickers, Region 'On Tour' tags and jokey signs about growing up into Jaguars !

In Addition To Great Food There Was a Gentle Competition

Attendees were invited to put the registration of the Jaguar they liked most into a beer glass. After the votes were counted a joint 3rd pair were announced, a 2nd placed and the winner.

Hopefully, our Thames Valley Region friends will forgive us that Oxon Region scooped all those places !

But the winner, Vaughan Machin with his beautiful dark blue MK2, was clearly the popular choice and a win well deserved.

He and his partner can now enjoy their champagne trophy....
