JEC Oxon Will Provide The Car Fleet for Veterans@Heritage - Wednesday 6th August
This will be our 8th attendance at this event, organised by Mission Motorsport, to provide the car fleet from our Members, the JDHT and BH Tenants, and we’ve made it into the summer once more !!
'MM' is the armed forces' Motorsport Charity, with the aim of 'Race - Retain - Recover'. Mission Motorsport is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting the recovery and rehabilitation of individuals affected by their military service. Capitalising on the unique and astonishing healing powers of recovery sport, namely motorsport and opportunities in the automotive industry, the charity helps veterans, wounded, injured and sick, serving personnel and their families transition to civilian life. Since its founding in 2012, Mission Motorsport has provided pathways for recovery, rehabilitation, and employment for members of the Armed Forces community. They have supported over 2,040 wounded, injured, or sick veterans through recovery-focussed motorsport activities. Additionally, the charity has helped and facilitated new career pathways in the automotive industry leading to employment for more than 2,000 veterans.
Our Region is proud to do something for our veterans as well as their, and our, community. Taking Veterans and their Dependents and Others around the BH Test Circuit in Jaguars, in between them getting counselling and other support, is always fun and Members typically also blag rides in other Members’ Jaguars.
There’s a bit of a difference this year too, in that the event is going to be their extremely popular Families Day whilst retaining last year's theme of 'Best of British'.
Planning continues, with the intention of holding our Summer Social, a BBQ, here after the day winds down (albeit that bit is yet to be confirmed).
