Sunday 21st June 2026 – Father’s Day
Chiltern Open Air Museum, Gorelands Lane, Chalfont St Peter, HP8 4AB
More Than Just Cars in a Field
“South Midlands” might sound like an unusual name, but it was chosen with good reason. Rather than risk excluding anyone with a more localised title like “Chilterns,” the aim is simple: make this an event for everyone.
A core team of Regions — Warwickshire, Coventry & Hinckley, Oxfordshire, Bucks & Herts, Bedfordshire, London NW & W, Berks & Thames Valley, and Surrey — are behind the day. And the expectation is that visitors will travel from far and wide. Those regions will also welcome attendances from Wiltshire, Swindon, Portsmouth, 3 Counties, Bath & Bristol, and Essex Thameside.
So yes, it’s a Jaguar event — but it’s shaping up to be much more than that.
What to Expect on the Day

This isn’t just “Jaguars in a field.” The event will feature:
- Dedicated Region displays
- Model anniversary showcases including XK, XJ40 and X-Type
- Support from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust (JDHT)
- A growing list of exhibitors
- Catering and live atmosphere
- Full access to explore the entire museum
The event will take place in Skippings Field, right at the heart of the museum grounds.
There’s also the possibility of passenger rides (with donations going to the JDHT), and a relaxed, fun “Most Loved Jaguar (or Daimler)” competition.

A Venue Worth the Visit on Its Own

The event is hosted at the Chiltern Open Air Museum, Chalfont St Peter — a venue many members already know and rate highly.

The museum itself is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, having been founded in 1976 by volunteers from the Chiltern Society. It’s a working charity that rescues and preserves historic buildings that would otherwise be lost.
There are currently around 40 buildings on site, spanning:
- Iron Age roundhouses
- Tudor, Georgian and Victorian buildings
- A 1960s prefab many will recognise
Buildings have been brought in from across the region — so chances are, there’s something from near you.
You may also recognise the site from TV and film, including Downton Abbey, Call the Midwife, Midsomer Murders, and Taskmaster.
Exhibitors & Displays

Alongside the Region and model displays, we’re expecting a wide range of exhibitors.
While confirmations are still coming in, we’re hoping to welcome names such as:
- Startermotor
- U17 Car Club
- JLR Armed Forces Network
- Mission Motorsport
- Electrogenic
- Pendine Cars
- Chiltern Jaguar (Stokenchurch)
- Moss Jaguar
- E&E Services
- And more besides
We’re also pleased that Club Chairman Peter Leake will be joining us on the day.
And of course, one of the highlights will be the members’ cars themselves — including some rare and special Jaguars and Daimlers.
Not Just for Petrol Heads

It’s Father’s Day — but this is very much a family-friendly day out.
For those less focused on cars, the museum and grounds offer plenty to enjoy:
- Adventure playground
- Woodland walks and gardens
- Sculpture and brass rubbing trails
- Historic buildings to explore
- Dressing-up areas and interactive exhibits
- Victorian school experience
- Family room and colouring activities
- Farm animals and wildlife
There are also baby changing and feeding facilities available. Dogs are welcome on short leads (just not inside the buildings).
Great Value Entry
Here’s the part that may surprise you…
Tickets are just £7 per person.
That means a family of four can enjoy the entire day for under £30 — including the event, displays, and full access to the museum.
Even better, £1 from every ticket goes to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust as thanks for their ongoing support.
