The season at Goodwood Motor Circuit begins in earnest this spring with the Goodwood Members’ Meeting – set to once again deliver one of the most evocative and engaging weekends in historic motorsport.
Now firmly established as a highlight of the early-season calendar, the Members’ Meeting blends serious racing with the unique atmosphere that only Goodwood seems able to create. It is, at heart, an event for enthusiasts—less crowded than the Festival of Speed or Revival, but no less rich in spectacle.
For 2026, the familiar formula remains: a packed programme of period-correct racing, high-profile demonstration runs and the kind of access that brings spectators closer to the machinery than almost anywhere else in the world. Expect the paddocks to be alive with everything from pre-war racers through to thunderous GT machinery, all presented and driven in anger rather than preserved behind ropes.
Jaguar interest will, as ever, be strong. The marque’s competition heritage is a natural fit for Goodwood, and previous Members’ Meetings have seen everything from C- and D-types to XJ-S racers and early touring car-era saloons taking to the circuit. With historic grids often themed or curated, there is every chance that Coventry’s finest will once again feature prominently across multiple races and demonstrations.
One of the enduring appeals of the Members’ Meeting is its slightly more relaxed tone. The event harks back to the original BARC Members’ Meetings held at Goodwood during the circuit’s heyday, and that sense of club spirit remains. Spectators can wander freely, get close to the cars and drivers, and experience the event in a way that feels refreshingly authentic.
Off-track, the theatre continues. From dusk racing—now a firm favourite—to carefully curated displays and the ever-present hum of conversation between like-minded enthusiasts, the Members’ Meeting offers as much to enjoy away from the racing as on it.
As anticipation builds for the 2026 running, one thing is certain: Goodwood will once again set the tone for the historic motorsport year ahead.

The Goodwood Members 83rd Meeting this year is celebrating the 65th Anniversary of the Jaguar E Type and there is a special E Type only race in the Protheroe Cup over 45 minutes and involving two drivers. In the words of Goodwood “aims to gather the finest selection of pre-63 racing E-types ever assembled”.
Can’t wait. I’ll be driving down in my 1962 E-Type which I had the next chassis number to CUT8
