A multiple Northern Ireland champion in Rallycross, hill climb and sprint disciplines, and the first Irish driver to win the British Rallycross championship and carry the coveted GB1 plate, Dennis was there to welcome us with a roaring fire in the grate outside his tastefully lit barn. He explained how he had built the outside walls of the barn in field stone and embedded broken crankshafts, buckled rims and bent conrods for visitors to see past let downs.

He welcomed us inside where he showed us his collection, 4 Metro 6R4's two of them being restored, one of which was the first 6R4 built by Frank Williams and Tom Walkingshaw. This is a very important car.

He also had the world championship winning Subaru Impreza S9 previously driven by Petter Solberg.

The walls were covered with his past motoring experiences with damaged bonnets, wings and doors all telling their past stories.

Wall Coverings

Denis's wife Anne had the supper ready and we were invited to donate to Denis's chosen local charity called Angel Wishes who support children with cancer. A total of £340 was raised.

Meal

The laughter and chat went on well into the night and an enjoyable evening was had by all.
