On Saturday 3rd June JEC NI took full advantage of the fine weather and had a great day out at the Mid Ulster Vintage Rally in The Jungle Complex, Moneymore. There was a good turnout of 19 cars and 30 members attending.
Everyone met outside Antrim town and drove in convoy enjoying the early morning sunshine, excited to think of what the day might bring.
We were welcomed on arrival by the organising committee who had our plot cordoned off and had made us the main attraction for other visitors to the show. Soon we had our gazebo and club banners up, and were enjoying morning tea, coffee and sandwiches made by the local girl guides.
The afternoon was taken up by viewing various events such as tractor pulling, lawnmower racing, dog competitions, downhill zorbing, classic car exhibitors and trade stands.
We couldn't have picked a better day to enjoy these Mid Ulster rural activities and were honoured to lead the procession out of the event, continuing onward to the Royal Hotel in Cookstown for our evening meal.
The Royal had pulled out all the stops having reserved their car park especially for us. The meal we had was exceptional and was served by staff who couldn't have done enough for us making a return visit definitely on the cards.
A great day was had by all.
