On Sunday 20th August JEC NI gathered in Ballynahinch for a tour of the Mournes organised by our chairman Ed Shaw.

Weather for once was in our favour and it was warm and sunny as 15 members set off on our scenic drive. Our first stop was the Slieve Croob vantage point where we stopped to take in the beauty of this wonderful place we all live in. We could see for miles north and west of the province.

We then headed over the Mournes into Dundrum where we stopped off at Dundrum Castle and walked the ruins of the old Norman castle, taking in the views overlooking Dundrum Bay with the majestic Mourne Mountains in the background.

We finished our day at Frenches restaurant in the small village of Clough where we were warmly welcomed and served a superb meal. All in all a great afternoon and a big thank you to Ed and his wife Sharon for organising it.
