The Italian Job 2023

The final run and dine out of the year for Grampian Region is titled “The Italian Job”. Inspired by the film, we set out to enjoy a leisurely drive through the magnificent countryside in the Northeast of Scotland, ending at a nice Italian Restaurant for supper and chat in great company. This year’s outing was on Thursday the 14th of September and, strangely enough, the weather could not have been better, with the evening autumnal sunshine setting the hills ablaze with colour. Due to a late clash with an event at our local Transport Museum, only 6 cars were on the run, but they all enjoyed some of the best minor roads we have on offer, minimal broken surface and not a lot of traffic to separate the cars as we made our way from Milton of Crathes to Borsalino’s Restaurant. The drive was just over 1 hour and covered 35 glorious miles. For anyone looking for an authentic Italian experience, Borsalino’s can certainly be recommended. Even on a Thursday evening in mid-September, the restaurant was near full and with lots of lively chat going on at the tables. In October will be our Technical Evening, we await confirmation of place and time so keep an eye on your email for details. November will be back at our Base, Kippie Lodge for our AGM, and full notice will be provided by email. Do try and get along to the AGM and have your say on the running of your Region.
