When we arrived there was already a big crowd with a good buzz about, it was clearly a well run event with armbands, window stickers and instructions given where to erect our stand for the day.
The days racing continued with cars doing time trials, the drivers getting more and more confident as the day progressed, their passengers becoming more and more nervous with every gear change.
In between races we were able to cross over the track into the paddock where we marvelled at these incredible machines Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, Porsche millions of pounds worth all on show.
We had a visit during the day from the Air Ambulance as they flew their magnificent helicopter in to the track displaying a showcase landing to the crowd.
Later there was a visit by around 500 motorbikes who took advantage of the day and got 2 laps of the circuit for £10 each which was all going to the charity. It was quite a spectacle.
The day finally finished with the VIP Hyper cars some never seen before giving the crowd a real thrill as they sped up Lismore Straight in front of the grandstand, all sounding fantastic.
A short presentation followed with four cups being awarded for the best in each class. One of our 1963 Jaguar 3.8 e types won the best Classic Car award on the day.
Our Club stand attracted a lot of attention during the course of the day leading to two new members getting on board and signing up for the club.
A really great day was had by all and we look forward to returning to the venue next year to support such a worthwhile cause.
Big thanks to our Secretary Terry Taylor for organising such a great outing.
