Nine cars met up at Montrose Air Station where we split into two groups to be shown around the station. Our guides were amazing. Both were volunteers who not only brought the displays to life but also added their own stories.
The displays were impressive, particularly the two full scale fibreglass replicas of World War 1 planes made by volunteers. Aston Martin enthusiasts would have been at home with the David Brown tractor which they still use around the site today.
After a coffee in the Air Station's impressive library we headed off for an hours drive through beautiful countryside and managing to dodge the rain to the Meikleour Arms Hotel for dinner. Well done Andrew for suggesting this venue as the meal and service were outstanding!
A warm welcome to new member Tim who joined us for the run.
