November News from Beds Region

At our November monthly meeting we received a further update on Steve McCoy’s Series 1 E type roadster restoration. When the car was purchased, Steve thought it would need a “little bit of cosmetic work”. However, as often happens, after some investigation on the car Steve ended up opting for a full restoration.

But now, after two years, the car is complete and looks fantastic in the photographs and “fingers crossed” just needs a final shakedown test. We look forward to seeing the car at our 2025 meetings, and Steve and Alison can finally go on those long-awaited adventures.

At the time of writing, we are just a few days away from our December meeting which is at our usual venue the Rose & Crown, Ridgmont, but this time it’s our Christmas Dinner including Annual Awards and Grand Raffle, details of which will be reported next month.

Despite these wintery times members managed to support local events, at London Gliding Club organised by the Loose Alliance Car Group also the regular monthly meeting (held throughout the year) at the Dukes Hotel, Heath & Reach.

We look forward to seeing many members at our 9th January meeting which will start with our Annual General Meeting hopefully followed by Rick Walker's review of racing in the Jaguar Challenge in 2024 and plans for 2025.
