Monthly Meetings

Monday 7th October will be at The Wight Mouse Inn, Chale, PO38 2HA

The Wight Mouse Inn offers a range of high-quality foods of generous proportions and a choice of traditional beers. The pub is well known for its pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. The Wight Mouse Inn and Clarendon Hotel was named after the shipwreck of the Clarendon which sank in Chale Bay in 1836 claiming 25 lives. Some of the timbers from the wreck were incorporated into the hotel and it was a popular destination for the upper classes in Victorian times. I am sure this makes it suitable for our members

Monday 4th November will be at The Taveners, Godshill, PO38 3HZ

Welcoming 17th-c pub with good food cooked by landlord-chef, emphasis on fresh locally sourced produce (some home-grown). Offering well-kept ales and plenty of wines by the glass. Good friendly service, spacious bar and two front dining areas, beams, bare boards and slate floors with a lovely woodburner. Parking is limited, so late-comers may need to search for a suitable parking place.

Jaguar XKR

Black leather interior, heated seats, 6 CD changer. 4 excellent tyres, private plate comes with the car. Just MOT’d, clear bill of health – last 2 MOT’s showed zero CO2 and virtually ZERO hydrocarbon emissions!

Full engine service by Ray Lover only 4k miles ago, chain tensioners checked – it has full aluminium ones (no plastic!) Good overall condition, goes like a rocket but with the usual Jaguar comfort and luxury...

Wheels would benefit from a refurb, slight attention needed to back of rear wheel arches (common problem, fairly simple)

1 previous owner, my car since 2009, always garaged. Very good condition with electric seats and wing mirrors, ABS and traction control, climate control, multi cd player, radio cassette, power hood with leather tonneau cover, original front grill fittings if required, plastic timing chain tensioners replaced with steel, gearbox oil changed 2010, service records and original invoice. Underside wax oiled Dec 2018. Mot Dec 2019. This is a lovely car that drives well and is genuine low mileage having been used mainly for local trips on fine days. Regularly run through the winter. Age and ill health sadly forces sale. These cars are appreciating and this is the favoured black and cream leather upholstery combination.
