News from the Isle of Wight

Members are working hard in the final stages of planning for our Regional Day. Auto-Fest IOW 2023, will take place at Sandown Airport on Sunday 13th August.

Preparations for the Show

Saturday 12th will be our main setting up day and there will be bacon baps, sausage baps and veggie burgers, along with tea, coffee, or juice. We suggest a 9am start on Saturday.

Please bring along your donations for Autojumble (come on guys clear out those garages and sheds), tombola, kiddies tombola and the book stall. We will have labelled tables in the marquee, ready for your donations. Thank you.

There will be a brief Marshals Meeting after our bacon baps at 9.30am.

Post-Show Dinner

Glynis has now booked us into The Dairyman’s Daughter at 6.30pm, for our Post-Show celebratory dinner. Please sign up on the event form so Glynis can book the numbers.

Monthly Monday Meeting 4th September

The White Horse Inn pub is reputed to be one of the oldest in England let alone the Isle of Wight, as it was first recorded as a public house in 1454. Their specials and main menu are packed with local Island produce and provide excellent choices for all tastes. Their real ales change regularly and there are normally at least three to choose from, including some of best that our local Island breweries can provide. Choose from a range of premium lagers and cider and one of the best wine lists available in any pub of the Island.

Vic's Car Show 9th & 10th September

After the sad passing of Vic, the decision has been made that this popular car show will take place. This non-profit event will take place at Ryde Esplanade. Any funds raised go directly to charity. We have been asked to provide some marshals for this event. Marshals will be required to be in position between 7.30am till 11:00am. Even if you can only manage one day, the team will be very grateful. For anyone who can manage to act as a marshal, please speak to Keith or enter your name on the sign-up form. Thank you in advance. We only have 3 tickets left for this event, so if you were considering attending please contact Keith asap on [email protected] or 862519. If you are attending as a marshal you do not require a ticket.
