News from Staffordshire North Region
Our region members send best wishes for a speedy recovery to Howard Oakes after his recent operation and look forward to seeing him return to the “fold” soon. The events our region takes part in are going well (assisted by the sunny weather), one of these in May was our first “Car of the Month” competition held at Moorville Hall Hotel in Cellarhead, there were many fine Jaguar/Daimlers on the car park to choose from and the winning car belonged to Phil Tittensor, it was a very nice Jaguar XJS 3.6. There are several more opportunities to win these events up to September (weather permitting). Whilst talking of our own events there is now a date for our show which will be held at Moorville Hall hotel (possibly with another car club joining us), it will be on Sunday 24th July 2022 from 10:00am to 3:00pm there will be prizes, including the “Presidents Trophy” for the overall winner and a best visitor award. In May member Richard Greaterix’s 1986 Jaguar XJ6 Series 3 4.2 was awarded “Best modern classic” at Chetwynd Deer Park show. Other events we attended were Swadlincote Festival of Transport, RAF Cosford, Smallwood Vintage Rally, Capesthorne Hall, Stafford County show, Gawsworth Hall and Tatton (plus others) - all great shows. There were 45 members present at the May meeting – our numbers are creeping up steadily, a good job we moved on from the Bleeding Wolf, we are too big for the car park and their meeting room!
