News from Staffordshire North Region
The February club night meeting was busy with lots happening, we held our regional Annual General meeting, it was proposed rather than vote on individual committee positions we would have a block vote (as all committee members were prepared to continue in their current positions for the coming year) this was passed unanimously, the region accounts were presented by Carol Ingram showing we are in a good state of financial health for the previous year. The 2022 “Member of the Year” award was presented to Chairman Dave Page and “Breakdown of the Year” awarded to Ed Walker. We held the usual raffle fund raiser, thanks to everyone who donated prizes – 9 in total which raised £57 towards region funds. The quiz (postponed from January) organized by Sue and Dave Page was very entertaining with lots of both car and general knowledge questions (luckily this included a few easy ones!) and raised £32 towards region funds. On 22nd February we had a “Prostate Cancer Awareness” event organized by Brian Pye at the Hartshill Medical Institute which included a great buffet and a raffle for 4 prizes which raised £66 which was presented to Terry Gill of the Prostate Cancer UK organization. Many of the car shows are already planned for 2023, not all shows appear in this news roundup but where there is time and space they will be included. We should be at Statfold “Drive it day” and Donnington Festival in April followed by Swadlincote transport show in May.
