News from Staffordshire North Region

Hopefully everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. There is a big change ahead for our region – over the past few month’s things have changed at our normal venue (Moorville Hall hotel), it has changed hands, the kitchen has closed and there is a lot of uncertainty from the staff as to what is happening. We need to have a stable relationship at our chosen venue (not knowing if it will be closed when we attend does not help at all!) Our committee has surveyed various options and after a suggestion by Stan Crutchley has chosen the Potters Bar at Meir Park (see the regional listings for details) unfortunately Wednesdays are unavailable, so we have opted to return to club nights on the Third Tuesday of the month. Our first meeting at the Potters Bar will be on Tuesday 21^st January 2025 at 8:00pm. Our February club night meeting is the regional Annual General Meeting. We will be reviewing the last twelve months, the state of the region, and looking for ideas to help the region move forward. If you would like to raise a topic, please let me know by the end of January and I will add it to the agenda. Our “Member of the Year” award will be presented at the AGM (plus there may be other awards too). Planning is under way for this year’s events, come and join us to hear all the news.
