News from Staffordshire North Region
The winning car in the “Car of the month” competition held in June at Moorville Hall was a well-presented Classic S Type belonging to Ivan Fernyhough. Ivan will be presented with a framed certificate in July for the win. Dave Rockey was presented with his certificate for his winning car, an XK Convertible, of the June event. The region’s fund-raising raffle was held as usual, thanks to all those who donated the prizes and it was a bumper turnout of members for the evening – 38 in total! There were reports regarding shows and events covering the many shows we have been to and detailing those to come. By the time you read this report the Moorville Hall Classic show on 21st July will have passed and I will tell you more in next month’s report – I am sure provided the weather was kind it will have been a brilliant show, included will be a ladies event themed “Hawaiian” dress. Several members enjoyed a tour of Yorkshire organized by Dave and Sue Page and had a superb time, At the Stafford Cheese show our stand was visited by Television Chef James Martin. Shows to look forward to in August are the Betley show on 3rd, Tatton Park 17/18th, Capesthorne Hall 25th and Apedale on 26th (Monday) plus others. I know it is early in the year but now is the time to start thinking about taking a photo of your pride and joy for next year’s region calendar.
