News from Staffordshire North Region

Events are well under way, so we just need some warmer weather! In April at Weston Park Dave Rockey was presented with a trophy for the “Best post 2000 classic car” in the show and at Foxfield Railway we had a great turnout of 17 cars. In June and July, a few of the events we are booked to attend are North Rode Transport show, Swadlincote Steam Fair, Lichfield Cars in the park and the Cheshire Steam Fair at Daresbury. We will also have our annual region car awards this year for the Presidents trophy, the date for this event will be Sunday 21st July at Moorville Hall. A full list of events can be found on our regional website. Club nights are continuing to attract new members to the region with an attendance of 29 members in April. The monthly raffle raised £43 for club funds – thanks to everyone who donated prizes and Pat Crutchley for selling the tickets. In May we held our first “Car of the Month” competition where members vote for the Jaguar/Daimler on the hotel car park they think is the best one. The winning car can only win once in the year so there are usually 5 chances to win the award, I will report which car and owner won in May next time. Join us at 8:00pm on the third Wednesday of the month at Moorville Hall hotel in Cellarhead for up to the minute news of club, regional and national events.
