News from Staffordshire North Region

Sadly, I have sad news to report, John Deaville, a long-standing member of the region passed away in February, John was a well-respected and friendly member of the region and for several years was Chairman, he joined in with all aspects of the club and will be missed greatly. Our thoughts and prayers go to Julie and John’s family. The February club night meeting was busy with lots happening, we held our regional Annual General meeting, it was proposed rather than vote for individual committee positions there would be a block vote (all committee members were prepared to continue in their current positions for the coming year) the vote was approved unanimously, the region accounts were presented showing we were in a good state of financial health for the previous 12 months. The winner of the 2024 “Member of the Year” award was announced, and although it was a tie for first place, Dave Lewis was ineligible as he won it in the last 3 years, so the award goes to Sue Lewis (yes Dave’s wife!) We held the usual raffle fundraiser, thanks to everyone who donated prizes – this raised £49 towards region funds. Many of the car shows are already planned for 2024, not all shows appear in this news roundup, but where there is time and space they will be included. We will attend Apedale railway on “Drive it day” in April plus Swadlincote transport show and JEC NW Regions day at Capesthorne in May.
