News from Staffordshire North Region

Car shows and events are still going strongly for our region with busy weekends for lots of members, helped mostly by the sunny weather. The August region raffle raised £52 towards our funds and there was also an auction for a couple of items, a Breakfast Sandwich Maker and Bottle of Grand Marnier Orange and Fine old Cognac Brandy, donated by Ken Mitchell (Mitch), the money from which will be donated to the Midlands Air Ambulance. If you would like your car to feature in our region calendar for next year, please send me one (or at the most two) pictures, these need to be good quality (at least 1Mb) with a small amount of space around the car(s) to allow for “cropping” and if possible square or landscape orientation. Your photo needs to be submitted by the end of October so if there are more than twelve, we can vote on which to use at the November club night. Our Car of the month competition in August was won by Dave Gambling’s XK8 convertible X150, in fact the first three place vehicles were all XK8’s! If it is light enough in September, we may have held the last “Car of the month” competition for this year. Several members attended the club AGM at Browns Lane at the end of September. Join us on the third Wednesday of every month at Moorville Hall hotel for an 8:00pm start.
