News from Staffordshire North Region
The Staffordshire North region “Car of the month” competition winner in July was a lovely XK8 belonging to Brian Pye. Towards the end of July, we had our own Classic Car show at Moorville Hall hotel with a turnout of 25 or so Jaguar/Daimlers plus around a dozen other Classics, winners of the prizes were: Keith Ingram – “Car of the show and Presidents Trophy” with his Series 3 Jaguar, in Second place was Dave Lewis in his XK8, Third place Brian Pye also with an XK8, the Best visitor award went to Peter Mould in a superb E Type. There was also a competition for the “Best dressed lady” on the theme of Flower Power, this was won by Colleen Bass (on the extreme right in the picture). Well done to everyone who took part in the competitions and those helping to set it all up which made it a great success. We had winners at other events too. Geoff Taylor (Series 3 Daimler) at Alrewas show was awarded “Car of the Show” and Stan Crutchley (Series 2 Daimler Coupe) at Markeaton Park took the “Best 70’s Classic” trophy, The show season is a long way off finishing yet, to find out more you are welcome to join us at Moorville Hall on the third Wednesday of the month from 8:00pm. Our next meeting is 20th September. We welcomed Graham and Matt Durber to the region and held our usual fund raiser raffle – Thanks to everyone who donated prizes.
