News from Staffordshire North Region
The winning car in the “Car of the month” competition held in June at Moorville Hall was a well-presented E Type belonging to Ed Walker. Ed will be presented with a framed certificate in July for the win. Stan Crutchley was presented with his certificate at the June meeting. The region’s fund-raising raffle was held as usual, thanks to all those who donated the prizes – I won a prize again this time (two months on the trot!). We were sorry to hear Dave Gambling has been in hospital and is now recovering after an accident at home, our best wishes for a speedy recovery to you Dave. We hope Nigel Thorley will have a long and happy retirement, Nigel has close ties with our region and has been a good friend to us over the years. There were reports from event organiser’s Carol Ingram and Dave Page covering the many shows we have been to and detailing those to come. By the time you read this report the Moorville Hall Classic show in July will have passed and I will tell you more in next month’s report – I am sure provided the weather was kind it will have been a brilliant show. Several members travelled to Ireland in July for the Celtic Classic tour and had a superb time, before that at the Stafford Cheese show our stand was visited by Television Chef James Martin, at the Kelsall Steam show were Jay Blades and Sir David Jason.
