News from North Staffordshire Region
Unfortunately, I have to report the death of one of our very popular members, Martin Williams, who passed away just before Christmas, Martin leaves his wife, Steph, and three young boys. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them and they will all be missed at our car shows. We had a busy meeting in December and it never ceases to amaze me how many members turn up so close to Christmas! (there were 37). Sixteen prizes were available for the club funds raffle, all donated by members so thanks to them. There are many shows planned this year already and in February we hold our AGM. We will have a Sunday meeting at the Bleeding Wolf again on a date yet to be confirmed (probably in May or June). Don’t forget you have to apply for tickets to some of the shows well in advance directly to the show organisers – in fact the best idea is to join us on the 3rd Tuesday of the month for further details and keep up to date with what is happening. For the year just gone we had over 30 members attend each club night and at two meetings we had over 40 members so standing room only! Next month I will report on the fantastic Dinner Dance at the North Stafford hotel where the guest was our own Nigel Thorley. The proceeds of the raffle at the dinner/dance were presented to the representative from the Air Ambulance appeal Alan Hill.
