News from North Staffprdshire Region
I have to report this month Alan Vasey, who attended the Staffordshire North region, sadly passed away on 7th July after a long illness, Alan died at home with his loving family around him, he was a keen member of the club attending many of our events both locally and afar, he was a very jovial and friendly person who never had a bad word to say about anyone, Alan was a popular character in everything we did - club nights, Christmas meals and car shows etc, he organized purchase of our regalia and always had a witty quip ready for any situation. Alan was awarded “Member of the year” on several occasions over the years and was a member of the region committee. The attached photo shows Alan on the left in his usual jovial mood. Our thoughts and deepest sympathy go to Alan’s family – daughter Kerry and husband Dave, son Shaun and wife Helen, granddaughter Amber, grandsons John and Jacob and great grandson Ezra at this sad time. Due to the current restrictions the cremation service was relayed over the internet and some members attended with a show of Jaguars to mark the occasion, there will be a separate committal at some point where it is hoped everyone will be able to attend. The region and its members will miss Alan greatly. Another region member also passed in July, Eric Fernyhough, who at one time attended many car shows although he too suffered a long illness so could not attend the monthly region meetings.
