News from North Staffordshire Region

I would like to wish all members a prosperous and healthy New Year on behalf of the regions committee, I am sure the North Staffs Region Christmas Dinner-Dance early in January 2016 will be a great evening and raise much needed funds which, along with the proceeds from the raffle, go to the Air Ambulance appeal - I will report more about it next month along with a report about the talk given by Nigel Thorley in early December. The November regional raffle prizes (9 of them) were again all donated by members of the region so thanks to them.

Several members attended the club AGM in Castle Bromwich at which Carol Ingram was awarded the ‘Spirit of the club’ award and we congratulated Carol at the November meeting where she detailed the events list for 2016 although some dates are still to be finalized there will be some repeat and some new venues, watch this space for announcements, check the region web site or better still join us on the third Tuesday of the month at the Bleeding Wolf to get the latest up to date information. Advance notification – at the February club night we have our regional Annual General Meeting and presentation to the ‘North Staffs region member of the year 2015/2016’.

The AGM, although formal, is a relaxed atmosphere and whilst we are always looking for help and new blood no one will be ‘press ganged’ to undertake a role so don’t let it put you off joining us.
