News from North Staffordshire Region
Please note for the next three or possibly four months (March, April, May and June) we will be meeting temporarily in the Garden Room of the North Stafford hotel opposite Stoke rail station. This should prove to be a good compromise of location as we have members travelling from many compass points! This is a temporary arrangement due to the Bleeding Wolf closing for an extension/refurbishment to be made during those months. On Saturday 11th January members/guests sat down at our annual New Year Dinner dance at the North Stafford Hotel, we were fortunate to have Pauline and Nigel Thorley join us, we held a raffle with 131 prizes donated by members of the region, added to this were donations taking the overall total to £800 which was presented to our nominated charity the Midland Air Ambulance. Thanks to everyone selling/folding raffle tickets etc and particularly Chairman Brian Pye who was the main “driver” of the event, it was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. Plans are being made for the many car shows we will be attending in 2020, there will be some favourites plus new ones. In February we held our AGM and presented the “North Staffs region member of the year 2018/9” trophy to the member with the most points collected at meetings and shows, their identity will be revealed next month.
