News from North Staffordshire Region

Unfortunately I have to report the death of Mal Forster, who passed away just before Christmas, Mal, who was Regional Organiser for the Cheshire region had close ties with us and was always a friendly and helpful person. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Adele and the family who will all be missed at our shows. We had a busy meeting in December and it never ceases to amaze me how many members turn up so close to Christmas! (there were 35). Fourteen prizes were available for the club funds raffle, all donated by members so thanks to them. There are many shows planned this year already and in February we hold our AGM. We will have our own Sunday meeting again on a date yet to be confirmed (probably in May or June). Don’t forget you have to apply for tickets to some of the shows well in advance directly to the show organisers – in fact the best idea is to join us on the 3^rd Tuesday of the month for further details and keep up to date with what is happening. For the year just gone we had over 30 members attend each club night and at two meetings we had over 40 members so standing room only! Next month I will report on our fantastic Dinner Dance at the North Stafford hotel. The proceeds of the raffle at the dinner/dance are presented to a representative from the Air Ambulance appeal.
