News from North Staffordshire Region
On Saturday 12th January members/guests sat down at our annual New Year Dinner dance at the North Stafford Hotel, we were fortunate to have Pauline and Nigel Thorley join us, we held our usual raffle with over 100 prizes donated by members of the region, added to this were proceeds of an auction and a generous donation from Andy White of AWJ Automotive taking the overall total to £1100 which was presented to our nominated charity the Midland Air Ambulance, Alan Hill of the charity thanked everyone for their generosity and brought us up to date with a short talk. In total over the years we have donated almost £7000 to the charity. Thanks to everyone who helped and particularly Chairman Brian Pye who was the main “driver” of the event. The January club night meeting was postponed by a week as the venue was closed for the day with only a few hours’ notice! apologies to any members who we had been unable to contact. In February we held our AGM when we heard reports from committee members covering events, finances etc. and elected a new committee to run the region for the next 12 months, the “North Staffs region member of the year 2017/8 award was presented to the member with the most points collected at meetings and shows, their identity will be revealed next month.
