News from North Staffordshire Region

Winner of the August ‘Car of the Month’ competition from the 15 or so Jaguar/Daimlers on the pub car park was a very nice XKR Convertible belonging to John Deaville but it was a close thing as the E Type of Pauline Leese came a close second by only 2 votes. The region raffle for 11 prizes donated by members (many thanks to them) raised £33 for club funds, thanks to Hazel Sutton for selling the tickets. Two stalwarts of the region had 75^th birthdays in August – committee member Alan Vasey and Chairman Brian Pye. Our thoughts are with Jim and Kath Goodwin at this time as Kath is suffering a serious illness. The region attended 8 or 9 shows since last month including Bodyllwydden and the Isle of Wight. Several shows are still to come such as Apedale, Eccleshall, Himley and RAF Burtonwood. Some events are being considered for next year already so watch this space for news. Now is a good time to submit your photos for the region calendar, these should be good quality/size (1Mb minimum please), for the choice to be made at the November club night. Also bookings for our annual Dinner/Dance in January need to be made very soon to secure your place(s), join us at The Bleeding Wolf on the 3^rd Tuesday of the month in Scholar Green where you will be most welcome and can keep up to date on region functions.
