Grampian JEC Charity activities

On a cold, windy, but thankfully dry Valentine’s Day, nineteen members of Grampian Jaguar Enthusiasts Club received a very warm welcome at the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance hangar at Aberdeen Airport. The purpose of the visit was to present a donation of £1300 raised mainly at our 2024 Drum Castle meeting. The members were introduced to the duty crew of the aircraft and were shown around it, followed by a presentation illustrating the work of the SCAA. There are two such helicopters operating in Scotland, based in Perth and Aberdeen. This is in addition to NHS provided helicopter ambulances based elsewhere. £8 million are required annually to maintain and improve this service, and fund raising is obviously a very important aspect of their ethos. The service operates one 12 hour shift daily, and fly only in daylight hours. Thanks to donations such as these, new night vision equipment is being installed to improve the service in the longer darkness of the winter months.

On 14th March, Grampian JEC are receiving a presentation and hopefully some music from its chosen 2025 charity. Scottish Culture and Tradition (SC&T). This is a charity which promotes traditional music learning and performance and is particularly focussed on getting young people involved and learning.

There has been a change of the Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Aberdeen. The franchise has been taken over by Parks Motor Group, replacing Peter Vardy.
