Nerws from Staffordshire North Region

We have a new meeting venue from this month – The Red House, Caverswall, ST11 9ED. We have had to revert our meeting night to the third Wednesday of the Month. Unfortunately, the Potters Bar did not meet our requirements. Events are now well underway, at Foxfield Railway we had a great turnout of 17 cars followed by a good display at Apedale Valley for “Drive it Day”. In June and July, a few of the events we are booked to attend are North Rode Transport show, Lichfield Cars in the park and the Cheshire Steam Fair at Daresbury. We will also have our annual region car awards this year for the Presidents trophy, the date of this event is not yet fixed so will be advised later, it will probably be at our new venue – The Red House. A full list of events can be found on our regional website. Club nights are continuing to attract new members to the region with an attendance of over 30 members in April. The monthly raffle raised £47 for club funds; In May we held our first “Car of the Month” competition where members vote for the Jaguar/Daimler on the pub car park they think is the best one. The winning car can only win once a year so there are usually 5 chances to win the award, I will report which car and owner won in May in the next magazine.
