JEC South Lincs. - Visit to "The Splined Hub".

Oliver and Alison Winbolt were fabulously enthusiastic hosts, who kindly extended an invitation to our region, for an insight into the world of high end Jaguar restoration. See below for more.

Restoration, Paint, Upgrades and Service.... for Classic Jaguars and more.

Eighteen club members turned out on a warm, sunny Saturday morning for a tour of "The Splined Hub" workshop and facilities.

Tea, coffee, cake anyone?

Alison kindly suggested we start our tour with a freshly made lemon drizzle cake and tea or coffee. A great start to what was lining up to be a fascinating tour of the company and workshops.

Ground up restoration.

Oliver took us through his restoration process, starting with the careful selection of matching number models, then chassis measurement and panel alignment. Followed by body preparation, panel gap adjustment, and finally paint.

A C-Type commission.

The Splined Hub has accepted many commissions from all over the world, and is particularly pleased with the quality of this latest C-Type recreation, which is currently undergoing its final mechanical "shakedown", prior to paint.

It is apparently an exhilarating drive.

THANK YOU.

Thank you for making us so welcome and providing an insight into the skilful restoration work that you undertake at The Splined Hub. It was lovely to meet you both and we hope to see you again at one of your forthcoming events, or even a "Sunset Spin".

Thanks again,

All good wishes,

Sue Jervis, for the JEC South Lincs Region.
