Paul & Wendy were 2015 winners, and as a result were challenged to organise 2016's treasure hunt. You can read all about the treasure hunt below..................
The treasure hunt started in Thurlby which one hundred years ago was the centre of an airship tragedy, when due to a defective blower valve Sea Scout R39 fell onto the railway cottages. It was not recorded as to how many were injured or killed in the accident. The treasure hunt then took you on a 30 mile tour through eleven local villages, including Little Bytham where in 1938 Mallard achieved a speed of 125.88mph setting a new steam locomotive speed record.
We returned to Thurlby for Sunday lunch and to award the "Treasure Hunt" trophy to the ultimate winners, George and Maggie Waite.
Thanks you to all who participated and made the day such a success, and congratulations to George and Maggie, who as you can see from the photos below are clearly delighted!
