October 2020, Chairman's report .........
In October, nineteen members watched an informative Zoom presentation by JEC Chairman, Ray Searles.
After providing a brief history of his JEC journey, beginning with his personal enjoyment of driving Jaguars, Ray described several challenges and opportunities the Coronavirus pandemic has brought to the JEC, before outlining some of the Board’s plans. Members appreciated Ray listening to their concerns and his considered responses to various questions, ranging from how the JEC might help members to source repairs or replacements for faulty electronic modules fitted in modern classics, through to the value, or otherwise, of the Jaguar Racing programme to the average member.
Afterwards, our Regional chairman, Neil Jervis, reminded members of his recent email update and sought approval for the committee’s proposal that £400 from Regional funds should be added to £600 donated by members for St. Barnabas Hospice Trust, giving a final donation totalling £1,000. Members unanimously agreed. Neil also announced that, although meetings are still likely to be held via Zoom until at least spring, South Lincolnshire’s Annual General Meeting will take place, as usual, in February. To expedite proceedings, all relevant information will be issued by email in advance of the AGM on 9th February.
So, diary dates for early 2021 are as follows.........
12th January: A talk by Chris Clark and ‘Confessions of a Driving Instructor’.
9th February: South Lincolnshire JEC AGM; thereafter, a talk by Neal Mugglestone on ‘The XK180’.
9th March: Talk by Richard West, JEC Director and former Head of Media for Williams F1 Racing Team.
and much more to follow.
I look forward to seeing you all soon via "ZOOM". Meanwhile stay safe.
