JEC South Lincs. - November 2023 Club News
In November, instead of our usual monthly meeting, we met at the premises of ‘Mugglestone & Co. Independent Jaguar Specialists’ at Anton’s Gowt, near Boston, where we welcomed two new members, Colin and Pat, and celebrated Guy Fawkes night together.
As always, our hosts provided excellent hospitality, with a roaring bonfire to keep us warm and a superb firework display. Many thanks to Neal and Davina for inviting members of S. Lincs JEC to join them, their family, and friends for a lovely evening. Thanks also to Mark and Sharon for producing copious quantities of tasty hog-roast rolls and hotdogs. Rumour has it that someone ate two of each! You know who you are!
The following week saw 13 members enjoy a sociable lunch at The Abbey Lodge Inn, Woodhall Spa. The staff demonstrated remarkable good humour while our usual noisy banter continued unabated as our orders were patiently taken, double-checked, and then swiftly delivered. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and a good time was had by all. Thank you to Pam and John for stepping in and so efficiently organising the event after Janet and Rodger were obliged to hand over responsibility for making the arrangements.
Members are reminded that the South Lincolnshire JEC will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 13th February 2024 at The Wishing Well Inn, Dyke, with formal proceedings starting at 8pm. Afterwards, the finishing touches will be put to the new calendar of events, which the committee have been working hard to arrange.
