JEC South Lincs - July 2025 News Letter
Our first outing in May was to The Splined Hub at Oundle, where Ollie and Alison kindly showed us around their workshops and described the highly skilled classic car restoration services they provide. After admiring the stunning workmanship there, we drove to the Kings Arms at Polebrook for a tasty lunch. Thank you to both establishments, and to Paul and Wendy for organising everything.
The theme of expert restorations continued at our club meeting, when Cip and Andy from P & K Thornton of Lambley visited us. We thank Cip for his presentation, which included splendid images showing the range of quality work undertaken by his exceptional team of craftsmen.
Our next thanks go to Helen and Adey for arranging a traditional fish and chips lunch at Hussey’s, in Skegness. Several of us ventured back into chilly North Lincolnshire two days later to watch the exciting Jaguar Championship races at Cadwell Park.
Finally, 16 couples experienced a wonderful long-weekend at Dunston Hall in Norfolk. We are very grateful to Dave and Jan for making all of the arrangements and planning optional visits to: Blakeney Garage; where members enjoyed the kind hospitality provided by owner, Mark Davenport, and his staff, while viewing various gorgeous motorcycles and cars, including an Aston Martin 1500cc tourer just returned from the Shamrock Rally in Ireland, a 1936 Jaguar SS100 and a Bentley 3½ litre; and The English Distillery at Roudham, which members toured before sampling some of the fine whisky produced there. A fabulous month!
