So who spotted a wildebeest?
The day started at Woodland Waters, where a full English was the order of the day. After a brief briefing we all set out in early morning sunshine heading through quaint villages towards Nottingham and the river Trent. Twenty eight miles later we arrived at The Bridgeford Garden Centre for a tea/coffee break. By now Keith and Jane Caswell's Mk2 had succumbed to the dreaded ignition failure. Their fate was to have to wait hours to be rescued. However the hunt had to continue, so we set off on a 24 mile route through Southwell finally ending up at Kelham Hall for Sunday lunch.
Kelham Hall.
We were allowed to park infront of this impressive Victorian stately home, and it proved to be a splendid location for a Sunday lunch. By now most of us had given up on seeing any wildebeest, and we were certainly not prepared for the sight that confronted us in the Billiard Room (and it was not Professor Plum with the lead piping). Photo to follow....
We were then given a very informative tour of the building before returning to our cars. Neil and Sue discovered that one wheel was feeling a bit deflated, but it did not take long to get that changed.
Thanks again to Neil and Sue for organising a lovely tour, and even arranging some dry weather for those with soft tops.
