JEC South Lincs yet again had a prime location along North Avenue, sandwiched between Minis and MGs. We arrived early to secure our "Pole Position" pitch and this gave us time to work out how to assemble the events shelter, our insurance policy against rain.
It was great to see the stands filling up with every conceivable type of transportation, vintage, classics, even the latest electric vehicles. A light breeze meant that it took a little while for the clouds to move on, but they did clear eventually leaving a warm, sunny day.
A right royal rally.
Mid morning, the castle and gardens were opened up to the public and provided a magnificent backdrop for the rally cars and monster trucks. The Red Arrows flew by on their way to Silverstone, and later on, the BBMF Lancaster topped off the day with an impressive, nostalgic fly pass.
Take Aways.
Overall a great club day out, but we must remember that next year we need a bigger pitch.
