JEC Somerset Region Welsh Borders Tour

30 of the Somerset Region met at Tintern Abbey for breakfast before making our way to a lunch stop at Stokesay Castle, after a couple of hours wandering around the castle we set off to the Wild Pheasant our hotel for the next three nights.

Meeting in the bar for pre - dinner drinks gave us the opportunity so socialise before heading to the restaurant for our evening meal.

Day two we all walked down to Llangollen Wharf for the two hour canal trip over the amazing Pontcysylite Aqueduct some of us enjoying the Welsh cream tea with a spot of bubbly. The afternoon was free time and some of us walked up to Dinas Bran Castle other spent time at Chirk Castle, and the famous Chirk Aqueduct,Viaduct and Tunnel

Day three was our drive out day heading up the horseshoe pass around the Evo Triangle then down to Balla following the lake Verny back round to Chirk and to the hotel. There was plenty of meeting up at the fabulous view points before our lunch stop at the Loch Cafe by the lake. A group booked a morning trip on the Llangollen railway and spent the day sightseeing and enjoying shorter drives before meeting up at the bar to share our stories of the day.

Day 4 After packing our cases we all met in the hotel car park before heading of to CMC for our guided tour and lunch. We were made most welcome and thanks to Paul Peach for an amazing informative tour.

After the the visit to CMC we all said our goodbyes and headed back to Somerset what a great trip with great company thanks to everyone on the tour for making it so enjoyable .
