JEC Derbyshire Region - Bicester Scramble 24th April 2022
The April Scramble did not disappoint. Harry Metcalf (Harry's Garage Videos on Youtube etc) was there with his newly restored XJ Coupe and has said he thought it was the best Scramble yet!
With attendance restricted due to the continuing Covid influencers (ie the Local Authority) tickets sold quickly and yet the quality of the exhibits was superb.
It was difficult to pick a favourite, but this being a JEC web page, I have concentrated on photo's of Jaguars in this article. In a subsequent article I will try to give a broader impression of the event.
As you can see, there were plenty of E-Types and a fair few Mk 2 Saloons, at least a couple of XJ Coupe's, a modern XJ LWB, and many more. I managed to miss Harry Metcalf's newly restored XJ Coupe - still don't know how - I can see from pictures that Harry has posted, where it was parked. I must have been distracted!!!
Jaguar Heritage brought along the ex William Lyons XJ, which passed it's MoT with flying colours a week ago. Usually on display the Gaydon collection, this was a great opportunity to see this significant car which really did look superb!
The next Scramble is on June 19th. Tickets now on sale, and likely to sell out quickly! (I've already got mine!).
The second picture (above) is the ex William Lyons Jaguar XJ from the Jaguar Heritage Collection. Below it is one of the ex TWR Racing machines.
