Fife and Tayside welcomed Jaguar Enthusiast friends from Ireland for a weekend of events and runs. Pitlochry which lies on the River Tummel, was the perfect base for runs through the scenic Perthshire countryside and the Cairngorm National Park.
Friday evening was an opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet new ones over dinner.
The Provost of Perth kindly flagged off the 29 Jaguars on the first of the runs. The 96 mile run headed to Kirkmichael for a tour of Millford Engineering classic car restorers where the group were shown stunning cars such as a Bugatti Veyron, AC Cobra and vintage Bentley. The group of 29 Jaguars then ventured to Balmoral castle where they looked truly majestic as they lined up outside the castle. A tour round the Royal Lochnagar Distillery rounded off the day before the dinner dance with reminiscing about the day and all things Jaguar. Not even the rain shower, flurries of snow or having to clean salt off the cars dampened the enjoyment.
Sunday saw better weather and the group enjoyed a shorter (66 miles) but equally picturesque route to Aberfeldy through the Small Glen then onto the House of Bruar for lunch and a spot of shopping. Relaxing over dinner was the perfect end to the day.
Farewells were exchanged on Monday morning and our friends returned to Ireland. All in all, a highly successful weekend and not even one breakdown!
Kind thanks must go to Terry and Kareen MacDougall and Jim Thomson for all their hard work at organising the event and the runs.
