Harp Recital

Following our members’ survey earlier this year, we were looking for something a little different and non-car related and to that end we set up something very special for our March evening meeting. Chairman Steve Cromar introduced his niece, Nadine Ralston who won the MOD as the best Harpist in Scotland in 2022. She has performed many solo Harp recitals and is the only Harpist to reach her level in the Aberdeen Music School in its history. Nadine came along to Kippie and was able to fit us in for an evening recital between a concert and her teaching session the same weekend. It was an incredibly relaxed social event for the club and something “quite different”. Nadine played background music while we ordered our food and drink, and she then joined us for supper. Afterwards, we were treated to a short recital, with a presentation between the tunes giving some background information on the music and her music career to date. To watch her hands fly over the strings when she played some of the more intricate pieces was fascinating. Given that Nadine is now just 16 years old, she is a most gifted musician.

Later in May we will have our Grampian Region Spring Break. 13 couples are getting along to that, but we are still seeking a volunteer to organise an impromptu Cars, Coffee and Chat for later this month. Contact Steve or Bill if you can put your hand up.
