Essex and Suffolk Borders - April News

News from around the region and from our Chairman

By the time you read this, our Drive It Day outing to Snape has taken place, which all went well. This included the first outing for our new red gazebo, which revealed that the old Jaguar motto of Grace, Space and Pace is only true for the first and third attribute - they were not designed with gazebo frames in mind.

Similarly our Show at Rickinghall will have happened on 18 May, so more on this next time. However there should be a good show of Jaguars, as I have had several members contact me about coming along from neighbouring regions, and some people that are long term members who as yet do not come to any regional meetings. We hope to make a profit to give to our 2025 charity, Sarcoma UK.

A regular attendee in a 1950s Scammel lorry has now bought a traction engine, so we should see a bit of steam there as well, and cars should range from a 1915 Model T Ford to modern American muscle cars and a Lotus single seater racer!

We present a trophy to the best car and two runners up, so I look forward to revealing those next month.

In the meantime, please get in touch with the respective organiser to book places at the various shows throughout the summer, as per the recent schedule sent out. We are finding deadlines are getting tighter all the time, and more require a payment. Good job Rickinghall is still free for exhibiting vehicles!
