Essex and Suffolk Borders - September News

News from our chairman and from around the region

With the last car show of the season now behind us, at Castle Park, Colchester, we are now preparing for the end of year activities. However we did fit in a visit to the Lotus Racing centre at Hethel, near Norwich. There were historic formula 1 cars bearing very famous names and stories, together with the first Lotus built by Colin Chapman. We were told he used to enter the factory grounds in a sideways skid and the security staff would get sacked if the barrier was not up!

Our Steve Dunnett Dinner is in Ipswich on 30 November; if you have not yet put your name down, please contact Geoff or Kevin. As at the end of September, the menu will be published shortly for selection. Similarly, our Christmas meal at The Cricketers will be on Tuesday 10 December. Please note the date - firstly we did not want it just two days after Steve Dunnett and secondly it is nearer Christmas! Again menus will be available at the October meeting.

Turning to next year, we are starting off with Drive It Day which is going to be at Snape Maltings, organised by Bob Weaver who we are pleased to welcome back to the committee. He tells us he missed it, so asked to come back. It can't be the salary, so it must be the company!
