Essex and Suffolk Borders - September News

News from the Region

The August show season is in full swing, with attendances at Helmingham, Hyde Hall and Duxford. Helmingham is always a good show with many cars to see, Hyde Hall ( RHS garden) had a good number of Jaguars from JEC and JDC, and Duxford has yet to happen as I write this, but will no doubt be a good day.

Helmingham gave Gordon and Geoff a good chance to chat to traders and car clubs regarding a show we intend to put on in Rickinghall next May, and we got a very good response. More about this in due course, but put 5 May in your diaries.

At the point of writing, we still have spaces for people to visit the NEC classic car show by coach on 11 November, so if you receive the October magazine and wish to go, please get in contact immediately. The cost is £20, much cheaper than petrol to the NEC and parking.

We are finalising details for our January, February and March lunch outings - in the absence of shows in the winter - and a new events schedule will be sent out soon.

Notification of a possible future event

Trip to Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works - 20th October

Geoff our Chairman has been contacted by Jaguar Land Rover as they are offering JEC members the opportunity to visit them to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the S Type. They would like a variety of Jaguars to come - not just S Types. They are offering the opportunity to take a 3 hour tour of the workshop. This normally costs £49.00 but will be free of charge on this day! If you are interested contact Geoff asap, and he will let them know. Once we know who wants to go we can make arrangements re the cars to take. He already has 18 interested after the August Club night.
