News from the Chairman

Our December meeting and Christmas meal is imminent on December 5th, but will be a distant memory by the time you read this - I am sure it will have gone well!

As usual there will be no meeting in early January and our February meeting will comprise the AGM followed by a quiz. This will be a general knowledge quiz rather than car specific. James Mattheson has recently been co-opted onto the committee, to be confirmed at the AGM, so thank you James for your support.

Bob Welton has already been writing to the car clubs with invites for Rickinghall on 21 May and I am starting to get some stalls together. I had a chat to the Dads Army museum, who surprisingly had forked out for a stand at the NEC, and subsequently went along to visit them at Thetford. The museum is well done and has a tea room, but probably not enough to warrant a club visit 'en masse' However they will be discussing Rickinghall at their next meeting and I am hopeful we will get the original blue 1935 'J Jones the Butcher' Ford van along, used in the series and the 2016 film. It was apparently acquired in 2012 for £63000.

See you at the three lunches, and Happy New Year everyone.
