Essex and Suffolk Borders - November News

News from around the region

As usual, there will be no club night meeting in January as it would be so close to Christmas and New Year, so the only January event is the lunch at Stoke Nayland on the 16th.As advised in my recent newsletter, February is our AGM, which no doubt will be quite a quick affair as we had a mini AGM for 2020 when meetings resumed again in the summer. However we will present the accounts, and it will be an opportunity to air any points you wish to raise. I am not aware that anybody wishes to leave the committee, or, in fact, wishes to join!

We will also have an auction of the late Brian Cakebread's books for charity. If you have any items you would like to sell - not necessarily car related - do please get in touch with Geoff to discuss. It is normally quite a fun evening, and the more items we get the better it is. Our annual subs, held at £15, will also be due.

Longer term, we are making plans for our Car Show and Craft Fair at Rickinghall on 22 May, and will hopefully be running our usual coach to the NEC show in November, Covid permitting. November should also see the return of our Annual Dinner Dance, and further details will be advised in the Spring.

As we get dates for shows and visits confirmed, a new Events List will be sent out with the contact details for each one.

2021 was better than 2020 with more events allowed, and normality returning, but we are not fully out of the woods yet. There are several members who have not returned to meetings yet due to health concerns, and we can only hope that 2022 will bring increased strength and reassurance. We look forward to seeing you soon. Happy New Year, everyone.
