The Annual Dinner Dance and news of upcoming event for early 2018

Our annual Dinner Dance at the Marks Tey Hotel was a sell out, with 120 guests enjoying a champagne reception, a good meal and ‘dancing till late’ with a very professional singer. Thanks to Clive and Bob for organising it all and thanks to our friends from Thameside who always support this event. Christmas will have come and gone when the magazine arrives, so I hope your Jaguar got what he wanted!

Lunches are arranged for January, February and March on the 14th, 18th and 18th respectively – for further details see our events calender on the website, please contact the organiser of each event if you wish to go. The first one at Felixstowe Golf Club was a beautiful sunny day last year and most people took their Jaguars, but you are welcome to bring another car if you wish. Several regions seem to be calling this a BACON meeting, meaning ‘bring another car on the night’. I am in the process of organising a run out on the 22nd April, which is National Drive It Day and more details will follow shortly. It will involve a visit to a distillery and lunch in a pub, not necessarily in that order. I recently visited the H and H Auction at Duxford and it was good to see a 2000 XKR convertible make £15750 against a £10000 / £12000 estimate, so hopefully the X100s are now on the rise.

Finally our AGM will be held at the 5th February meeting and we would like as many there as possible. The past year went pretty quickly and we seem to have survived intact with the new committee, so my thanks to Bob, Clive, Tony , Martin and Karen and we wish you all a Happy New Year.
