Essex and Suffolk Borders - March News

News from around the region

Our March Sunday lunch went as well as the last one; not surprising, as they were in the same place. Clacton Golf Club proved a very good venue in February and March and we will be back next year. We were surprised to see Jeff Carlisle Dodd attend, looking amazingly healthy following his recent heart scare - he must be doing something right.

The weeks will soon go by leading up to our Rickinghall Show on 22 May, and let's hope the weather will be as good as the warm spell in March. Lots of motorbikes out and convertible tops down recently round the Suffolk B roads. A few bikes and tractors will attend the show to add to the mix, plus a couple of London taxis too.

The April meeting will feature the Blood Runners, who are volunteers giving up their time to rush blood products between hospitals on large motorbikes. They came a few years ago, but we have had a lot of new members since and we look forward to seeing them again.

We have found that bookings for shows have been a bit slow this year, and there is still some reluctance to commit to events. Do please contact the organiser listed against each event if you would like to go, and the more events you go to, the more you will get out of the club. We are not planning a Dinner Dance for this November, but I can reveal that one will take place in November next year, and discussions have commenced at the likely venue.
