Essex and Suffolk Borders - July News

News from the Region

We are now enjoying a hot and sunny summer and our regular attendances at the shows got off to a good start with Euston. This is always an enjoyable show, with many things to see as well as the vehicles on display. The steam rally at Weeting and the large show at Helmingham Hall will have taken place by the time you read this, so let's hope the good weather continues. We were fortunate in securing the Bloodrunners for the talk at our July meeting. This is not a horror movie, but a dedicated group of people using motorcycles to ferry blood supplies between hospitals and blood banks. It is a charity, rather like the air ambulance, and provides a vital service, so their attendance to inform us of their work is much appreciated.
We are always on the lookout for interesting speakers for the meetings, so if members have somebody in mind, please let a member of the committee know, and we will follow up the enquiry.
The August meeting will be a " noggin and natter" to give us the opportunity to see your cars in the car park, so if you wish to bring your Jaguar or another classic for friends to see, you are more than welcome.
We had the pleasure of meeting Patch Jobson from the JEC at our June meeting, who seemed happy with our activities; thanks for visiting, Patch.
Finally, we are taking names for our annual coach trip to the NEC show on 11 November, and if any members wish to join our coach from the Essex/ Suffolk area, do please get in touch.
